2016 – The 17th International Fungi & Fibre Symposium in CANADA!
Just one of the many mushroom dye classes at the 17th Symposium in B. C.
Many, many more photos and reports to come!
On October 17-22, 2016The 17th International Fungi and Fibre Symposium was held in Madeira Park, Britsh Columbia, CANADA! We enjoyed an incredible week of workshops, dyepots, forays, and camaraderie with others sharing our passion for mushroom dyeing & and all the fungal fibre arts!
Here is a wonderful video created by Lesley O’Keeffe of some of the many photo memories submitted by inspired attendees of the 17th International Fungi & Fibre Symposium! Enjoy!
One of many memorable highlights of the Symposium was a wonderfully detailed lecture on dye chemistry presented Preben Graae Sørensen, sharing some of his research and recent experiments with the dye chemistry of Cortinarius semi-sanguineus. He has graciously allowed us to have a link to this exciting new material. See additional dye chemistry details here.
