Gallery: MUSHROOMS | COLOR | ART AND CRAFT

Open call to artists, makers, crafters!
Families, children, homeschoolers! Learn about the wide world of mushroom pigments! Submit a photo of your work now, and see and be seen. Connect!

Miriam C. Rice was an artist and researcher into the world of mushroom dye fungi and their pigments. She believed that art was critical to our lives as individuals and to the very fabric of our communities. We are building this online gallery to honor the values that inspired Miriam’s life’s work.

The IMDI Gallery exhibits works of art and craft from around the world which have been created
using mushroom pigments. Anyone can submit textiles (woven, crocheted, knitted…), 2D and 3D art (drawings, paintings, prints, collage, sculpture…), mushroom papers, and other experiments using mushroom pigments. Share your skeins of yarn – the sky is the limit! The gallery is searchable – learn who is making what around the globe and with what mushrooms. Reach out to other makers!

Instructions: Upload a photo of your item, fill in the information fields, and submit a small donation of $20 to add your piece to the gallery. All donations help the IMDI continue its work keeping founder Miriam’s book, Mushrooms for Dyes, Paper, Pigments and Myco-Stix™, in print, and to support its travel grants to the IFFF Symposia held every other year.
